The Craze For Course Materials on DVD
Why has online training been such a successful and hit campaign? One of the major problems in pursuing any software or competitive course is the lack of material about the subject. Since storage space in a DVD is much more than in a CD, it has become a boon both for the content provider and the content seeker. This benefit turned on the craze for course materials on DVD.
The material which was sent earlier via CD, was not adequate. It covered all the topics, no doubt, but the main concern was the capacity of the CD. It hardly has around 700 MB of space. With Hard Disk sizes touching the TBs, MB storage spaces are fast becoming obsolete.
Floppies and CDs have all taken the backseat to single layer and dual layer DVDs. A HD DVD can contain 17 GB data at one go; a dual channel DVD can contain more than 8 GB of data. This is a phenomenal size when compared to the space offered by CDs. Thus, buying course materials on DVD has become more profitable for both buyer and the seller.
Over time, the standard of course material offered by the various CMS and LMS content providers has only been enhanced and made more professional. Now if one does not have access to a reputed training institute due to any reason, online training is there for the taking.
Institution-based training is slowly being dissolved due to the rise of online learning materials and courses. Even schools are buying course materials on DVD.
Online trainers usually give two options to the learners – one of them being web-based training where the learner can watch the videos online, and the other is course material on DVDs. The video quality of the training videos too has become awesome from a mere moderate.
Quick Time is the streaming standard for producing online videos for students. The quality of the quick time videos is of DVD quality. Not only the video quality, the instructors have also become more professional and give in-depth analysis of various terms that are generally considered to be hard to understand.
There are several agencies that excel in giving online training programs. They try to put in their best effort through the DVD to increase the quality of online education to the maximum that the technology can offer.
One of the main reasons for buying course materials on DVD is the learning of graphics & animation softwares from the pros. Mastering software is one of the more popular types of training. Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator, After Effects and many other Adobe products have found their place in the library of the e-learning course material.
Moreover, big houses also send in preview alpha or beta editions of their software for bug testing. The instructors try all the new features of the product and make the training material accordingly.
Not only does this help the learner who is trying to master new software from scratch, but it also helps the software development house. The product gets many reviews; the bug testing is done after some thorough application use and publicity. All these are obtained before the final product is launched. Course materials on DVD now feature more than one DVD; sometimes they come in a pack of 5-10 DVDs.
