Lisa Lampanelli Tickets – ‘queen Of Mean’ Continues To Get Laughs
The move toward becoming more “politically correct” has been addressed ad nauseum. For those who are feeling the queasiness, the cure comes in the form of comedienne Lisa Lampanelli. After all, nothing is off limits for the woman dubbed the “Queen of Mean.” In a course of a standup routine, Lampanelli could easily offend people on subjects ranging from race to sexuality, and yet people come back time and again to see her live. Despite her foul-mouthed ways, Lampanelli is delightfully charming and endears herself to everyone in the audience.
Lisa Lampanelli is one of the legends on the comedy scene, and she has remained true to her longtime love: standup comedy. This spring, Lampanelli will be touring around North America, making stops in places like Orlando, Fla.; Charlottesville, Va.; Baltimore, Md.; Tulsa, Okla.; Boston, Mass.; Temecula, Calif. and many more. She may not be the first say-anything comedian, but Lisa Lampanelli is certainly one of the first female comedians to tackle subjects considered “sensitive.” She follows in the footsteps of the ultimate insult comedian Don Rickles, who has the nickname of “The Merchant of Venom.” Many have recognized Lampanelli’s contribution to the comedy world, especially other female comedians. Despite her style being different from Lampanelli’s, comedienne Shelley Marshall recognizes her impact. She told the Welland Tribune, “Lisa Lampanelli is shock, shock, shock… I think Lisa Lampanelli is opening the door for women to be more crude … but I don’t like the word crude. If a critic says I’m crude, I want to call them and go out for tea. Let’s talk about this.”
Anyone who knows Lisa Lampanelli’s work won’t be surprised that she got her start at a celebrity roast. It happened in 2002 when she appeared on the NY Friars Club Roast of Chevy Chase on Comedy Central. She also happened to be the only female in the bunch at that roast. She did so well at that roast that she has gone on to be a part of roasts of other celebrities like William Shatner, Pamela Anderson and Larry the Cable Guy (of Blue Collar Comedy fame). Her universal appeal was apparent when she joined only a small number of white comics who have appeared on BET’s Comic View, perhaps helped by her well-documented love for bedding African American men.
Lisa Lampanelli has had many other television appearance, like many spots on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She has also had her own television comedy specials, like Lisa Lampanelli: Dirty Girl. Her talent stretched into film as well, with spots in movies like Delta Farce and Drillbit Taylor. In 2009, she added “author” to her long list of accomplishments with her book Chocolate Please: My Adventures in Food, Fat and Freaks. Lampanelli will be continuing her climb to the top with every standup stop on her current tour.
