“I would be a robot if I said I didn’t feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment.” – that’s Jen aka Jennifer Aniston who is never afraid to call a spade a spade. Daughter of actor John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow, Jen started her acting journey with a string of flop television shows. At one point in time she considered giving up acting but then the uber-drama “Friends” happened and since then she has not looked back.
Her star-making role as Rachel Green on the NBC sitcom Friends drove the entire America crazy. Zillions of women rushed to salons to get the Rachel hairstyle. But name and fame were not the only things that Aniston got out of “Friends”. Money and awards followed her soon. She received one million dollars per episode during the last two seasons of the show and the role of Rachel earned her an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
Jennifer Aniston soon became America’s sweetheart with great performances in The Good Girl (2002), Bruce Almighty (2003), Along Came Polly (2004), Derailed (2005), The Break-Up (2006), Marley & Me (2008) and He’s Just Not That Into You (2009).
She’s also been followed by paparazzi from all over the world. Be it Adam Duritz or Tate Donovan, tabloids have kept a keen eye on every man she’s dated! Her high profile marriage with hunky Brad Pitt on July29, 2000 made news in every continent. But their fairy tale romance ended in divorce after 5 years of marriage. For those who didn’t know, Brad and Jen met on a blind date in the spring of 1998 and it was set up by their agents.
Rumors were rife that Brad and Hollywood’s famous bad girl Angelina Jolie hooked up on the sets of Mr. and Mrs. Smith which caused the divorce. Some tabloids claimed that Jen’s refusal to have kids caused the split up but the actress fiercely denied this. And by 2006 Angelina had come clean that Brad and she fell for each other while shooting for ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’.
While the steady reports of romance between Brad and Angelina continue to hurt Aniston but she chose not to be the bitter ex-wife. For years Jennifer Aniston kept a dignified silence about Jolie but in 2008 in an interview with US Vogue she said: ‘What Angelina did was very uncool… and I’m still in touch with Brad’.
Though Aniston was shattered from inside but she refused to hide away from the world. Her movie career has gone from strength to strength – “Break-up” with Vince Vaughn grossed approximately $39.17 million during its opening weekend. “Marley & Me” where Jennifer Aniston was cast alongside Owen Wilson set a record for the largest Christmas Day box office ticket sales.
Rumors about her relationships post her divorce continue to fuel media hounds. Her brief romance with Vince Vaughn while shooting for “Break-up” made headlines in all the tabloids. Then came John Mayer, both of them were linked on the cover of the tabloids for months with rumors about their romance. More recent is her link up with Gerard Butler which is making the paparazzi world go crazy. Both of them were cast in the recently released “The Bounty Hunter”.
