Ah, the weekend. Every studying or working soul looks forward to when the clock strikes 5 p.m. on a Friday afternoon, officially beginning the week’s end and two days of glorious relaxation and fun. Friday and Saturday nights are usually reserved for big parties, frequenting bars or hot dates. To choose what you want to watch, programs and movies are broken up very simply into different categories. For example, when choosing a movie some examples of categories are: action, horror, comedy, romance, drama, children’s and sometimes, even sports is a category. TV shows are broken up into similar categories and then by the length of the shows and channels on which they are shown. Some common categories for TV are sitcom, drama and cartoon. They are then categorized by whether they are a half hour or hour long program and on which channel they are shown — a cable channel or something premium like HBO or the NFL Sunday Ticket where you have to pay extra for them.
Even if you do not plan on spending your rainy Saturday night alone with the remote, sweatpants and some popcorn, you can still make a night in the perfect date night with your loved ones or significant other. From a romantic dinner (or even a not so romantic dinner of junk food) to a movie marathon of flicks neither of you have seen, a night in is the perfect rainy ritual to keep any relationship strong. To keep the fire alive, make your living room or den feel like a home theater system. Flip on the flat screen HD television, turn up the volume, turn down the lights and snuggle next to your favorite person for a good movie night. Sometimes the best way to keep a relationship alive is to have quiet nights in and this is one of the more fun ways to do it.
