A: We have been using the Rosetta Stone Arabic program for about a month now and are delighted. The kids have been making much progress as have I! We plan to finish all three levels in Arabic and then move on to the Spanish program.
B: I and my 3rd and 5th grader are using this now to learn Spanish – Latin American. I love it. I have been learning for 2 years with Learning Spanish Like Crazy, and this has really sped up my learning. My 11 year old loves to do it. If you follow it as recommended, using the audio in the car or when you shop to reinforce learning it really sinks in.
C: This was our first year learning a foreign language. Love Rosetta Stone! Kids can work independently and they are not bogged down with conjugation of verbs, etc.
They simply learn from hearing and repetition. I don’t know what I’d do w/out this program.
The kids even have to talk/say the words/phrases. They do this through an outside microphone. This way they are sure they are pronouncing the words correctly. Thumbs up!
D: The Rosetta stone teaches you “baby sentences” like how to point at a blue car or see the ball near the child.
It does not teaches you the language. There is no attempt at teaching you verbs and tense. It has nice pictures and you GUESS what the things are. Big, expensive disappointment. I suggest you try something else. I am.
E: Rosetta Stone is an amazing product if it is used correctly. It lets me know when my sons have done their work for the day, and I am pleasantly surprised at how much the boys are retaining.
I love the booklets, tests and quizzes that come with the program, and the weekly worksheets give the boys a chance to write the language and to see it in print, as well as hearing it.
F: I love the way Rosetta Stone works. It really teaches a language in an innovative way. I just wanted to correct some of the false or incomplete comments that some of the other reviewers made. First of all, it is correct that you can’t make copies of the language CDs but they will replace them for free if they get damaged. Also, if you lose your password to the Student Management System, the upper level tech support people can recover it for you. My best advice though is not to change from the default. And the student usernames can always be looked up in the SMS, and you can also reset student passwords there as well.
