Religions that put man above woman can not be a complete teaching can it?
It seems to me to deny reality and brings unhappiness to both man and woman.
I know most men will say woman is equal to man but I also know that they are saying this in their minds only and this is not how they really act, how do I know this, I lived it for years.

But I agree w/ you. Most of today’s religions have their origins in patriarchal cultures. Since one of the roles of religion is to provide a structure for morality and social order these religions reflect the social order that was deemed important at the time of their inception.
It all boils down to the fact that men used to be on top and they used religion to keep it that way. Some have evolved past these roles but others don’t want to give up that position of power and authority. It’s a sweet deal to have someone else be responsible for the drudge work legitimatized by “Divine ” order.
