New Year Celebrations in Caribbean – Usher in the New Year with Tropical Flavour
With a reputation for being one of the most festive areas in the world, it should come as no surprise that when it comes to one of the biggest events of the year, The Caribbean certainly doesn’t disappoint.
During the New Year period visitors can enjoy a quiet romantic dinner for two or join in a major celebration extravaganza to party the night away. It’s only a matter of making a choice.
For the avid party lover a visit to Jost Van Dyke of the British Virgin Islands is absolutely essential on 31st night. This tiny little island becomes a hive of activity with socializing, dancing, and drinking whilst being serenaded by music. Hundreds of boats are tied at the renowned Foxy’s Bar and Restaurant turning the entire harbour in to one large floating party.
The Cayman Islands also offers something equally distinct, a white Christmas under the heat of the sun. This feat is achieved through the use of the pristine sand that can be found here. In the months leading up to Christmas locals start to gather up the sand and spread it out all over their yards creating an illusion of snow.
In Montserrat visitors watch the Island’s Irish and African culture come to life through ‘The Festival’. This annual event features a parade, crowning of a pageant queen, a street party and much more. Since “The Festival” runs from mid December to till early January travellers to the Caribbean have ample opportunity to catch at least a section of it.
St. Vincent is the scene of Church events, fireworks and large parties that kick off the festivities with a bang. The religious aspect is especially important and visitors will be able to see various rites being practiced.
Travellers will have the choice of numerous luxury resorts in the Caribbean each with its own benefits.
